KN95 protection masks are suitable for respiratory protection from harmful particles in the air. It can effectively filter 95% of particles in the air >0.3 microns.
KN95 masks cover from the bridge of the nose to underneath the chin, the shape of the KN95 mask creates a seal around the face to protect against droplets, dust, air pollutant, etc. KN95 masks are rated equivalently effective as the American N95 mask.
The US Food and Drug Administration changed its position on the sought-after type of respirator from China, the KN95, announcing that the agency will authorize the mask for use in healthcare settings if it meets certain criteria.
The move comes after conflicting government guidance that caused confusion over how these masks should be used and whether they could be imported into the US.
The masks were not listed in the initial FDA emergency use authorization because of “challenges in determining the authenticity” of the imports, said an agency spokesperson, who added that the FDA has already encountered fraudulent products identified as KN95s.

Good news or not? In short, I just hope that the time we have to wear them is less and less!
This KN95 masks sure offer a lot of protection. In my country, we prioritize the stocks for KN95 masks to medical frontliners. We have to protect them too, because they are the ones working so hard to treat those who have contracted the virus. My family and I use surgical masks and/or cloth (re-usable) masks when we have to go out of the house, and upon returning, we wash our hands, arms, and face thoroughly.
This is awesome! We have been using KN95 in Canada since the start of the pandemic, the masks are great, I wish we can find enough of them.
These are indeed strange times we live in….
